Stakeholder Engagement
Many pieces of work, particularly in the public sector, where ‘hearts and minds’ need to be won, require various stakeholders to become involved. There can be competing priorities and tensions between staff groups and / or organisations which all need to work together to improve patient or client care.
MuMac Consultancy has extensive experience in working with mixed groups to ensure a desired outcome is delivered. Examples include:
- Re-invigorating a workforce group to deliver on their project objectives. The group had a number of different staff from various county council departments as well as the NHS.
- Developing region-wide Diabetes Footcare Networks which are multi-disciplinary representing a wide variety of NHS organisations, external companies and patients.
Working with a wide variety of people and staff requires diplomacy, an understanding of local politics and empathy. However, tenacity, vision and drive are important balancing qualities to ensure outcomes are delivered upon. Stakeholder engagement is highly bespoke and is discussed in detail to ensure clients’ requirements are met.
I have worked with Kate on several successful projects over the past few years, her quick understanding of the problems, enthusiasm to tackle, manage and create effective change in the vast healthcare spectrum of stakeholders (Patients/Service Users, Allied Health Care Professionals, Hospitals Consultants, General Practitioners’, CCG leads, 3rd Sector organisations, Pharmaceutical industry and Health Care Managers) is a real inspiration.
The success of any project is always a team approach, but having Kate as part of that team has contributed significantly to whole team engagement and timely delivery.
